Brand Voice for agency teams

Keep the client's voice with the script—from brief to review.

Keep together the language, tone, preferences, boundaries, and source material that shape a client's scripts. Review changes deliberately so a one-off comment does not become a permanent rule by accident.

Do not make writers rebuild the client's voice from memory.

Brand context is often split across decks, old scripts, message threads, and individual team members. Narraplex keeps usable guidance with the client workspace and shows the team how that guidance was established.

Reference material · Guidance · History

Know what shaped the guidance—and what your agency put into use.

Keep client material, working guidance, and version history distinct so writers know which direction they can rely on.

Adding reference material does not automatically rewrite Brand Voice. Guidance changes remain a separate, agency-controlled decision.

Give writers useful direction, not a personality label.

A strong Brand Voice helps the team understand tone, vocabulary, pacing, point of view, phrases to prefer, phrases to avoid, and the boundaries that matter for the client.

Control which feedback can guide future drafts.

Client feedback can be useful without becoming a rule for every script. Your agency chooses whether relevant change requests can guide similar future work for that client or must be reviewed first. Client comments and one-off notes do not automatically rewrite Brand Voice.

Client feedback needs review

This feedback needs an agency decision before it can guide similar future work for this client.

  • Review feedback
  • Save as future guidance
  • Use as agency guidance
  • Not sure
  • Ignore

Available actions depend on the type of feedback. Creating guidance is a separate agency decision; the original feedback remains in the review history.

Change the guidance without erasing its history.

Brand Voice versions help the team understand what changed and which guidance was current for the work. A newer version should not silently rewrite the context behind an earlier review.

Brand Voice supports judgment. It does not certify the script.

Agency and client reviewers remain responsible for creative fit, factual accuracy, legal requirements, compliance, and final wording.

Brand Voice questions

Is Brand Voice created only from client sources?

Not always. Guidance may begin from a template, guided setup, or attached client material. Narraplex keeps the relevant source and review status visible instead of presenting every Brand Voice as client-derived.

Does client feedback update Brand Voice automatically?

No. Client feedback does not automatically edit Brand Voice. Your agency chooses whether relevant change requests can guide similar future work for that client or must be reviewed first. Comments and one-off feedback can remain only in the review history.

Can a Brand Voice change over time?

Yes. Brand Voice can be revised as the client, strategy, or creative direction changes. Version history helps the team preserve the context behind earlier work.
